C2-Standard,
 
die niedrigste Stufe der Sicherheitsstandards, die vom US-Verteidigungsministerium (U.S. National Computer Security Center, NCSC) im sog. Orange Book festgelegt wurde. Das Einhalten dieses Standards ist Voraussetzung dafür, dass ein Software-Produkt bei Ausschreibungen von US-amerikanischen Behörden berücksichtigt wird.
 
C2 definiert die Datensicherheit in Computersystemen, in denen vertrauliche Daten verarbeitet werden. Bestandteile von C2 sind eine Zugangskontrolle (Authentifizierung) durch Passwörter, die individuelle Benutzerabrechnung über Log-in-Aktivitäten sowie die Protokollierung sicherheitsrelevanter Ereignisse. Selbst diese Minimalanforderungen sind mit Windows NT aber nur z.T. verwirklicht.
